Comments: Thanks for the site. Jack D. Wofford was my grandfather. We miss him dearly but it's nice to know his beloved namesake boat is still around and people still care about it.

Comments: The comment below by Thomas Rigdon forgot to mention the name of the boat that I worked on. The boat was the "AMERICAN BEAUTY". She was a "beauty". I will never forgot working at the ship yards. I miss the Missippi River and all the people that I worked with over the years. I worked there until it closed.

Comments: I worked on this boat many years ago. I was the Leadman on the polit house on this boat. It had a hex front end on the polit house and the owner didnt like it. He decided that he wanted a round front end on the polit house. Gus Ripple said that it would cost him a pretty penny to change it but he said that he didnt care that he wanted a round front end on it. I worked many a hour changing this to his specifications plus all the other hours of working on the rest of the boat.
