In my opinion the French Lady, St Louis 1959 was built as UNITED STATES for Federal Barge Lines

Re-sold many times but was "Dub Hollinger" in 1981 when I worked on it as a Deckhand... Belonged to Hollinger Towing in Greenville Mississippi and was built in the 1940s. Still had hand winches in 1981 for connecting to the tows. This is the one I fell overboard from. 6 hrs on and 6 hrs off for $35.00 a day for 30 days. Old Southern Widows ran the kitchen and cooked so good I can't describe it. Gained 10 lbs in first 30 days and it was mostly muscle because the work was heavy and hard. Will never forget it.
Thx for what you do. The Dub looks the same after 39 yrs. Did a 36 hr shift to prove a Yankee could work. Ha

The Elisha Woods was named after my Great grandfather, Capt. Elisha Woods. He received his pilot's license at the age of 22, and worked with the Barrett line for 55 yrs.My Grandfather Cassius C. Woods was also a river Capt. a WWI veteran, and a Royal Arch Mason. I never got to meet them, but I'm very proud of both. Cassius' son David is my father, a USAF veteran of 20 yrs.
