Served aboard the m/v W. V. Keeley, in 1951, with Capt. Danna Young, upon the Kanawha River. I had been clerking for Moore's Hardware, Guyandotte, WV, when Danna sold me on the idea of shipping out with him. Don't recall any details. Didn't stay long. Need a good 8x10 photo, for my history album. Thanks.

Thanks for the memories. I worked for West Memphis Towing Co. on the Defender and the Lady Mignon. Seems like the dates were from 1968 - 1971. Markham & Brown was the primary company that West Memphis towing was a subsidiary. Man it was a long time ago. The dates could be off by a year.

I have some items that belong to my grandfather, J.B. Chauvin, a steam and diesel towboat captain from the 1930's thru the 1950's that I would like to donate to a towboat museum. Would you recommend someplace that would be interested in a balsa wood model christened in his name as well as his river charts , photos, and related news articles about him? I located his namesake in your photo gallery today and decided that it's time for these items to be shared with the pulic....Sincerely, Jamie White

I spied the Cimmaron this morning, 24 August 2020 tied on the shore on the Cumberland river at Clarksville, TN. I imagine the dark and thick fog required berthing overnight.
