Two four-cylinder triple expansion engines, 2400 hp. at 185 rpm. Foster-Wheeler "A" type steam generator, 275 psi. at 100 deg, superheat. Bunker C fuel oil. Built by Defense Plant Corporation (hence called a DPC). Originally Mateur, chartered to Federal Barge Lines, St. Louis, MO. Transferred to U. S. Engineers, Vicksburg, MS 3/1947. Eventually sold, renamed Effie Afton, permanently moored by casino at Rock Island, IL.
