I watched your slide show on your boat miss juk.I have been asking my brother to send me some pictures of him and his boat,but instead he sent me a text & I looked up miss juk,tugboat & I found your site.I will say she is a beautiful boat & I would like to thank my brother (David) for giving me the opportunity to actually see what he does &the boat that he works on.

thanks for the pics of the JE Alquist. It was named after my grandfather who was VP of American Commercial Barge Lines. But I was very sorry to see the condition it was in in the picture that was posted. Hoefully the new owners have restored her to her original beauty.

This boat was built and owned by my father and I have many good memories. My dad had it built by Lemay in Greenville, MS It was named for my Daughter Lynda and my neice Sally Ann Thanks, for the pictures Archie

I've enjoyed coming to your site to find towboat names after I have taken pictures of them passing through Vicksburg. I post them on my blog site and always link back to your site. Great work Dick! :)

The "BRITNEY LEE" was originally the "BOB BENTER" owned by "The Ohio River Company". Bob Benter was my uncle who worked for the Ohio River Company in Cincinnati, Ohio. I was on board only one time, when the "BOB BENTER" was delivering coal barges to Ohio River Company's location at Addyston, Ohio 45001 (Just down river from Cincinnati). Th Ohio River Company had several tugs that were almost identical. You could always recognize them by their profile, which was unique to this fleet at this time ... The Ohio River Company no longer exists...
