Thank you so much for posting the photo of this tugboat. At one point the boat was named for my father when it was owned by Ingram Barge Company and was an honor that to this day means so much to my Dad. He had over 20 yrs. with Ingram and it changed our lives in some many ways. We thank the Ingram family for honoring our Dad this way and will never forget it. As my brother stated, we still have a large print of "his" tugboat hanging on the wall at my parents house as memories of his days with Ingram Barge Co. Thank you to the Ingram Family and to you all for posting the history.

Work with Brent Doneker (form Caterpillar's Technical Center during the startup of the TH Kelly in the 1980s. He employed the more powerful 3512 Phase II engine configuration at that time. I worked through the use of dry exhaust manifolds in this marine application. We placed a venturi in the engine exhaust up top to draw a vacuum on the hardwrap exhaust manifolds. This cooled the exhaust and served to flow any exhaust on out the top if there were exhaust flanged bellows failures. Don't know if there are dry exhaust now or still working with Air-Shielded-Water-Cooled exhaust manifolds. Would like to talk with the Captain or engine/gear team members just to see how things are running 25 later. My Office number is (713)329-2219.

I was a tankerman on the Joanne Stegbauer, clark Frame and Dee Lane from 1979-1983 working for Southern towing out of Memphis. I really miss working there and everyone likes to hear the stories of the Mississippi river. I think everyone needs to take a trip on the river just once in their lives. Twice we were the last boat out of the upper on the Joanne in December for two consecutive years In St. Louis they were closing down the river behind us on account of ice.
