My father, (Les, SR.) worked for the Corps of Engineers at Lock 12 and then Pike Island L/D on the Ohio. With our house overlooking the river and Lock 12, I grew up watching and learning the names of the towboats locking through. What I'd give to hear an old steam whistle from a boat approaching the lock arrival point....

Found site after surfing around. The MV Sanderford that you have pictured was named after my Grandfather. Was nice to see it here. Love the site.

I like the pictures of the usace boats, especially the new one of the M/V Creve Coeur. I have decked and piloted on her from the time it was delivered to Peoria IL until August of 2006. I just made the return trip from L/D 2 in Hastings MN, to Peoria IL as a deckhand on the M/V Creve Coeur and have reason to believe the picture is southbound around burlington. Please let me know if I am wrong. I love the site and all the pictures and info.

The D. & R. Boney was named after my 2 sons (Donnie & Ronnie, Twins) who have worked on the river for AEP 31 years. They still work for them.
