My grandfather (Captain Oscar O. Elder) worked on the river for 47 years. He passed away Sept. 17, 2009 and while looking through some on his old photographs, an interest of the life that he loved for so many years was sparked in me. Anyone who knew my grandfather or has stories to share, I would be honored to hear from you. He worked on the Crimson Glory, American Beauty, White Dawn, Cooperative Venture, Cooperative Ambassadore, White Knight and many more. kimelderbarton@hotmail.com Thank you.

My husband, Kevin, is now Captain on the Sugarland. His father, Philip, was Captain for many years. She's a family legacy for the Box family. She raised 4 kids for my in-laws and now she's raising our 3 children. It's nice to see pics of my husband's home away from home!

I worked on the river for several years before I went back to school and now I'm doing social work. It would be great to hear from some of the crew I worked with on the Joyce Hale and other boats. I miss that job a lot, but now with a wife and seven, yes - seven kids, I had better stay put. LOL Paul pgoblishfamily@yahoo.com
