Nice site. Looking at photo of Henry B. My Father and Mother made a trip as Guest on the Henry B from St. Louis to NOLA in April of 1981. My Fathers Co. was in the Tug/Barger transporting Phosphate across the Gulf from Tampa with final destination to the Upper MidWest, and Riverway did the Transport Up River.

The boats are getting shorter but the tows are getting bigger. Coast Guard COI's can't come soon enough to the inland business. We need it especially the smaller boats to get everyone on the same playing field. Enjoyed the website. Thanks Harry Z

The Dixie Prince was originally named the Mary Jean which was my Grandmother's Name. Our Tugboat Company was W/W Towing & Fueling, Inc., 1972 thru 2005. The Mary Jean was sold to Kirby in 2005.

Shirley Keeney, a cook who worked on the H.K. Thatcher and Luke Gladders in the 1980s called me the other day. She's about to turn 80. She lives in Poplar Bluff, MO and I'll share her address with any of the old crew who contact me. Also, I've got pix of the Mary L and Laura Lee from When Sutton had them leased. And many of the Gladders boats; the Keystone, and several other towboats from when I worked in St. Louis Harbor in the late 1980s.
