I'm sorry, did I mention that Joe is one of the captains on the Lydia Brent?

My husband, Joe La Foy, is one of the captains on this tow boat. I really think it's a beautiful boat.

It was good to see the American Pillar with the WBL sign on it, I worked on it in 1980-81 from STL, MO. to NO, LA.

I worked as a deckhand on the Gilda McCool during the summer of 1966. Hauled anhydrous ammonia from gulf plants to mainly Ohio river locations. Never will forget propeller shaft sliding back and jaming rudder(s?)while loaded and underway. Really dangerous situation!

What a treat is was to see the pictures Eric M. Johnson shot of The Rocket. My dad built that boat for Capt. Ed & Helen Smith. Its a rush to see she's still pushing water. The stories I could tell you about that would make an old river man proud. Thanks for the memories. Best to all. K. Huckabee Major

We were all friends of Bob Knoke who passed away in 2012. His wife Kathy will be leaving Missouri to head to Oregon. Bob took my father when this tug was coming through the docks , He was so happy and proud to share this with his friend. My father talked about this for years. I am not sure what year this was done.

I have photos of the Junita because my grandfather was one of the builders, he also built the Walter P Dolly I have a oil painting that Forrest Hull painted for him. I would like more photographs of the O.F. Shearers and Sons boats, because my grandfather had something to do with them. Would you consider emailing me some. Please.
