Superior 8 cyl. diesels, total 1300 hp.. Originally Edgar C. Johnston, owned by P. & S. Towing Co., Houston, TX; operated by Johnston Line, Longview, TX. Later under charter, then sold to Sohio Petroleum Co.; renamed Sohio Memphis 6/1944 Sold to Standard Oil (Ohio) 4/1947; renamed Sohio State 1947. Sold back to Sohio Petroleum Co. 7/1951; renamed National 1959, then under bareboat charter to Ray Towing Co., Milford, OH. Sold to Elk Towing Co., Point Pleasant, WV 1963. Sold to M/G Transport Services, Cincinnati, OH 1968.
