Originally S. S. Thorpe, owned by
Inland Waterways Corporation.
Sold to American Rolling Mill Company (ARMCO) of Middletown, OH,
renamed George M. Verity 1940.
Decommissioned in 1960.
In dry berth on the Mississippi riverfront
in Keokuk, IA as a museum vessel since 1961.
